About BPKIHS
Established in 1993 through Nepal–India collaboration, B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) is one of Nepal’s premier medical institutions. It became an autonomous health sciences university in 1998 and is named after Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala, Nepal’s first democratically elected Prime Minister.
BPKIHS hosts four key faculties: Medicine, Dental Surgery, Nursing, and Public Health. It offers a wide array of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs including MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, MD/MS, DM/MCh, MPH, and PhD. The university’s 700-bed teaching hospital provides advanced clinical exposure and hands-on training for students.
